first prototype is now made, test animations & renderings made with BlendeR using http://an.org/programming/multivideo/multivideo.blend (and a nicer example in http://an.org/programming/multivideo/sunset5.blend which is basically a proof-of-concept for videoing something real like http://koti.netplaza.fi/%7Eteemu/intioe_sunset.jpg) and a player with PyGame , http://an.org/programming/multivideo/player.py
